Happy New Year from the First Grade. I hope you had a very blessed Christmas and took time to make some special memories with your child.

We had fun preparing for the Christmas season in our classroom. We made our Christmas countdown chains, Christmas tree mobiles & had lots of fun decorating our tree. Even though we picked the coldest day of 2009 too hunt for our tree, our field trip to Pinewood Nursery was lots of fun. We hope you enjoy the pictures.

We will begin 2010 with a wonderful winter theme which seems to be very appropriate. We will spend lots of time singing and crafting about snowmen and learning about hibernation (which we may all want to do in these frigid temperatures). Brr!

Please continue working with your child. I know it is hard to get back into the swing of things but our reading and math skills will really take off the 2nd part of this year. We will also begin doing Social Studies. The students will learn much about our world and the God who created it. Don't forget to send your January snacks! We are very slim!!!
